BECOME A VOLUNTEER!

At Zero Crisis, our amazing volunteers enable us to enhance our services to those in need and to amplify our impact to society. We are dedicated to impart relevant and thorough training to our volunteers. Please read through the information below to know what may complement your interests and have an idea what you need to know to get started!  

Volunteer Opportunities

As an organization that cares for both children and animals, our volunteers have the privilege to choose what role suits them best. Please check the links below to understand our respective services for minors and companion animals!

Volunteer Requirements

  • Adults who are aged 18+ can volunteer independently.

​

  • High school students can volunteer independently, though a waiver must be submitted by a parent or guardian demonstrating consent.

​

  • Loves to spend time with children and/or companions animals and is committed to the mission of our organization! Experience regarding to wildfires, taking care of minors and companion animals are highly favored, but it is not required. Though based on your experience, skills, and expertise, we may recommend you the volunteer position that suits you best.

  • Must commit to at least 3 months of volunteering.

  • Caring, Compassionate, and Collaborative

  • Socialization (spending time and socializing with minors afflicted by the repercussion of conflagrations/wildfires)

  • Mental and Behavioral Welfare (help reinstate minors affected by the repercussion of conflagrations and wildfires)

  • Socialization (spending time and socializing with companion animals afflicted by the repercussion of conflagrations/wildfires)

  • Mental and Behavioral Welfare (help reinstate companion animals affected by the repercussion of conflagrations and wildfires)

  • Foster Parent (providing temporary at-home care for companion animals who need extra love, care, attention, training, or time)

  • Events (fundraising events, community outreach events, virtual or in-person get togethers for minors and companion animals)

  • Ambassador (promote Zero Crisis across the state about who we are and the broad range of services we offer to minors and companion animals)

How to Become a Volunteer

  1. Read through the list of volunteer opportunities above and its corresponding position description to know what is suitable for you and your interests.

  2. Fill out the Volunteer Application.

  3. If accepted, you will receive an email within 5 business days regarding your involvement with our organization and the next steps. 

  4. If applicable to the position you have applied for, complete the Volunteer Training and Orientation. Please keep in mind that volunteer training will differ depending on your chosen or recommended position.
