Zero Crisis Extends Support to Reduce Overcrowding at Stanislaus County's Animal Shelter
Newsletter • April 06, 2024
Recent rescue calls from March 2024 in Ceres, California resulting from hoarding cases, suspected animal cruelty, and “unlivable” conditions have caused overcrowding at the Stanislaus County Animal Shelter.

This April, Zero Crisis stepped in to rescue a dog from the county animal shelter with the hopes of relieving suffering, witnessing recovery, and improving shelter circumstances.

“We are very glad to be an official rescue partner for the Stanislaus Animal Services Agency by helping out the dogs
and saving lives while reducing the overflow at the county shelter,” says Jennifer Wang, Founder and CEO of Zero Crisis.
Lucky, the new rescue dog, will spend the next couple of months under foster care at Zero Crisis until a forever home is found. As he acclimates to his new foster home and progressively moves towards recovery, we encourage volunteers to socialize with him and bring him on walks to help cultivate a sense of safety and confidence around people and his fellow dog buddies.
“He is a bit shy right now and scared. You can see from his facial expressions that he feels anxious from unsettling circumstances and unstable environments. But we are confident that he will return to his innate liveliness under our care.”
